Overview
Tanks of Freedom II is an indie isometric, turn-based strategy RPG with voxel art, developed in Godot by P1X Team under the MIT license. My translation and proofreading work is in progress; the menus and tutorial have been translated.
Responsibilities
I am translating the game’s scripts and menus into Brazilian Portuguese and proofreading the translated text. The work includes maintaining a glossary and adapting menu labels to the available space.
Tools & workflow
I maintain an evolving glossary to track terminology and its Brazilian Portuguese translations and adaptations. The translation files are available in my GitHub fork and in a pull request to the main project.
Challenges & solutions
Consistent terminology
An evolving glossary records translation choices so that terms can remain consistent across menus, tutorial text, and scripts as the work progresses.
Working within fixed menus
Menu labels needed to convey the original meaning while fitting fixed-size interface elements. I adapted the wording with both clarity and available space in mind.
